This guidance from Jamie Byrom (SHP Fellow) provides some useful starting points to help you plan for the 2014 National Curriculum. The resources include:
- A two-page summary of National Curriculum for History at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3, setting out the statutory content and preambles in a bullet-point format and a summary of how the aims of the revised National Curriculum are reflected in the preambles of each Key Stage; and guidance on how ‘key concepts’ can be developed progressively across Key Stages 1, 2 and 3 – please click here to download this document.
- Some ‘significant events’ and suggested enquiries that might be studied at Key Stage 1
- Four models for Key Stage 2 outline plans that show how areas of study might be arranged across Key Stage 2 with some sort of coherence. Models A and B could be used as part of a two year rolling programme.
