Teaching Black Tudors – resources

Black Tudors

Miranda Kaufmann’s plenary at SHP 2019 and workshop by Josh Garry and Wendy Lennon alerted delegates to a range of approached that teachers nationally are developing using Miranda’s books. The short blog explains the background to the project while the Google Drive contains materials that have already been created to support teachers, but please feel free to add some of your own.

Currently, the Google Drive has the following teaching resources shared within it –

  • Chris Lewis’s lessons on significance.
  • Josh Garry’s work on African Tudors, with a differentiated version by Maxine Harty.
  • Kerry Apps’s scheme of work, lessons and resources around the enquiry question, ‘Why was the world expanding in the 16th and 17th centuries?’
  • Wendy Lennon’s cross-curricular resources for teaching Black Tudors in English and History.

If you would like to add your Black Tudors resources to the drive, please get in touch!
